Louis joined Rohan Short in 2024 while completing the final year of his degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management at the University of the West of England. He graduated in 2025 and is now working towards becoming a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Since joining Rohan Short, Louis has been involved in a variety of projects across the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. This broad experience has allowed him to develop his technical knowledge and gain an understanding of the different cost, procurement, and delivery considerations associated with each sector.
Louis has a particular interest in life cycle costing and the role that long-term cost considerations play in design and investment decisions. His dissertation, The Gap Between Theory and Practice in Life Cycle Costing: A Comparative Analysis of Private and Public Residential Projects, explored the differences between theoretical approaches and their practical application, giving him a strong understanding of the challenges involved in applying whole-life cost principles to real projects.
