June and Chris attended a great seminar by YTL Developments on Brabazon, one of the UK's largest regeneration projects. The event was organised by Women in Property (WiP) and the British Council of Offices (BCO). The event showcased the major development underway in North Bristol at the former Filton Airfield, including new homes, commercial office developments, major infrastructure works, public realm improvements, the new Aviva Arena, community facilities, and educational assets. The Brabazon development is a 380-acre regeneration site, currently delivering a range of projects, including a completed PBSA scheme with over 750 beds, affordable housing, and the first office building now under construction, alongside the commencement of the Aviva Arena. The site visit provided a valuable opportunity to observe progress first-hand and gain a better understanding of the project’s scale, challenges, and future vision. This included viewing Runway Avenue, the main spine road through the development, which has now been officially opened. The Metrobus route has already been extended to serve the Brabazon site, improving public transport connectivity across the area.
